NGC 2516 offers a subtle but interesting view and presents itself as a diffuse object. It is relatively bright.
Right now it is at about 25° altitude and reaches 29° around 04:15 PM.
It does not reach a useful observing altitude today.
Observing conditions matter, subtle features are easily lost in bright skies.
This makes it a good target for beginners.
Under good conditions, the object reveals more character.
